Sympoiesis ::
is a work inspired by the notion of “being with” (Donna J. Haraway). It explores with-ness (with) what is “happening” or present within a space of soft dimensions. It is a collaboration with a co-arising of everything, no-thing and tension emerging within a moment of desire and receding of expectations.

Noguchi Taiso is practiced by a great number of Butoh practitioners today and has been incorporated by many well known Japanese Butoh teachers and pioneers (Yumiko Yoshioka, Ko Murobushi, Kan Katsura, Otto Morita, Carlotta Ikeda, Aka Maro, Ushio Amagatsu, Semimaru and Kazoo Ohno).

This class is a butoh-based inquiry. We will engage, invite, explore, inquire and utilize energetic, imagistic practices. Together we will follow and listen to our weight and allow ourselves to “be moved” into embodied unknowns. This class provides an opportunity to channel and hone your attention, slow down, notice and listen deeply to your inner experience: Sensations, impulses and unexplainable complexes to dance your “humaness.” what could it mean to dance a breath of yourself, the air of your being.
